One cable links the machine to a car battery or power station. That cable looks similar no matter which type it is. The difference is inside — one boosts voltage, one passes it through.

This mistake is common. A passthrough cable from a 12V port will not power the machine. A 12V converter on a 24V power station works but adds losses.

Type 2: 24V Passthrough Cable

Use when: Your power source already outputs 24V DC.

Good for:

  • CPAP-specific batteries (Medistrom Pilot-24 Lite, BiXPower 24V models)
  • Portable power stations with a 24V DC output port (TalentCell, Progeny, some EcoFlow models)
  • Any battery system already regulated to 24V

The passthrough cable is simpler — no conversion circuit. It connects the machine’s barrel connector to the battery’s 24V DC port. Less electrical complexity means fewer failure points and marginally better efficiency.

Will the DC adapter work with the humidifier on?

Yes. Both the KFD and iGuerburn are rated at 90W. That covers the AirSense 10 at full humidifier and heated hose settings. At 12V input, the car side draws roughly 7-8A. Verify your car socket fuse handles that.

Can I use the DC adapter for international travel?
